Opened 90-minutes before drinking. Clear ruby color with a light purple rim. Cool and fresh smelling with squished ripe currents, early spring plowed sod and allspice aromas. Silky smooth entry, approachable yet uninhibited, dry, full mouth-feel, medium-light body and 150-grit texture. Ripe cherry, red current and mushroom flavors. Bright acidity that was surprisingly mellow, smooth tannins and a long tart fruit finish that had a slight rhubarb taste. Wow, the best of both worlds. Fresh and lively Pinot Noir and less acidic Gamay. It was alluringly smooth while traveling through endless “S” curves where each one revealed new layers of tastes. An unusual, lighthearted and easy drinking Gamay/Pinot Noir blend. We loved it!!!
