He said: Opened two hours before drinking. Very slightly oqaque, dark purple color with a light purple rim. Rich, although not strong, fruit aromas. Strong, dusty, dry fruit taste with lots of acidity. All this ends with a long, very strong, dry finish. WOW a GREAT Douro. It was fantastic with the beef Wellington and equally good drinking alone after dinner. Outstanding dry tastes and a jam packed flavorful finish. Two thumps up from me.
She said: The challenge for our sommelier tonight was matching a wine to beef Wellington and grilled lobster. He chose a Douro, one of our favorite wines, so we went into dinner with high hopes…and we were not disappointed. The wine was delicious on its own and just as good with the grilled lobster tail. With a mild aroma and flavor the wine stood out for its dryness, medium body, and elegant tannins. The long finish was a welcome bonus. I loved it and look forward to another bottle.
