He said: Opened 15-minutes before drinking. Clear, dark ruby red color. Earthy aromas. Intense smooth, dark plum and blackberry taste and a long fruity, mouth-puckering dry finish that has LOTS of delicious mineral (so much you can taste the lime in the soil where the grapes were grown). WOW, great “red wine”. This was recommended by a fellow taster at a recent Caviste Wine Shop Kermit Lynch tasting, as a good red that’s a good price. He was right, in spades. It’s OUTSTANDING vibrant wine. Very nice aromas, delicious rich flavors, lively tannins and a very long dry flavorful finish. It’s a whole lot better than what I expected from a $12.60 French “Red Wine”!!! This is VERY delicious wine that’s an OUTSTANDING value.
She said: My first taste was disappointing because it lacked anything to write about but as we sipped our way through dinner the wine got better and better and better. A light aroma developed followed by an earthy taste. The medium body and pleasant tannins slowly emerged so the over all experience was enhanced. The finish had fruit overtones and was dry but was not memorable. At $12.60 it is a bargain wine if you open it well ahead and allow it to breath.
PS, As sipped the wine after the dinner I took smaller and smaller sips because each was so tasty…in the end it was a noteworthy wine that just needed to breath a little.
