Tasting:

Opened one hour before drinking. Mostly opaque, dark garnet color with a light purple rim. Cherry and damp earth aromas with hints of mint. Powerful, full body and a 150-grit texture. Spicy plum, cherry, blackberry and black walnut flavors. Plenty if edgy acidity and soft tannins that had gobs of grip and a very long finish that ends smooth, spicy and bitter with a coffee and fruity aftertaste. We had a similar pizza dinner last night, but tonight’s had less-sweet caramelized onions (done in a crock-pot, not a fry pan) and it was a FANTASTIC pairing. This was an unpretentious wine that begins with lots of Malbec softness, but at about mid-palate turns into a POWERFUL and ROBUST tasting Syrah. Interesting and exhilarating red blend that’s an FANTASTIC value. This was a wine for those who like powerful red wine. A solid four thumbs up from us!!!
