He said: Opened 15-minutes before drinking. Clear, dusty brown/garnet color. Quite fragrant damp earth, dark fruit and wet leather aromas with hints of tobacco. Smooth and plum, blackberry and blueberry fruit taste that has great follow through into a finish that’s medium-length, clean and fruity. This was great with our soup, great with our assorted cheese and great drinking alone, and…it’s an OUTSTANDING value. At less than $10 this was a Quality wine at a Bargain price.
She said: Dark ruby red, opaque, lots of thin plodding legs. Sometimes you find a wine that makes you want to jump up and down about and this is one of them. You can seek far and wide but will be hard pressed to find one that is as good as this one for under $10. A wonderful aroma with complex scents leads you to a strong dark berry flavor without any of the overwhelming boldness of a California red. The mouth-feel was smooth, the body medium, and the tannins soft. The finish is long and carries the flavor and tannins on and on. The wine went well with the soup and cheese but became a bit fruity/sweet when sipping alone. A great wine that’s a fantastic value.
