Tasting:

He said: Opened and decanted 1-hour before drinking. Opaque, inky dark garnet color with a brownish color rim. Strong very ripe blackberry, cherry and current aromas and more than a hint of cinnamon and wet leather. Intense, silky fruit and tar flavors that turn dry, tart and dusty in the long well-balanced finish. WOW, WOW, this was one of those special wines that’s just sumptuous right from the first taste. The depth and intensity of flavors was simply spectacular. A MEMORABLE wine that had layers of of smooth flavors that made every sip a new experience.

She said: Opaque, very dark color, almost black with brown rim. The alcohol aroma was a turn off at first but once in the mouth everything was forgotten as the ripe dark fruit flavors enveloped the taste buds. Absolutely fabulous! The mouth feel was dry, full bodied, super smooth with luscious tannins followed by a long finish that continued the multiplicity of flavors to the end and beyond. The wine was delicious with the chicken and especially the mushrooms and at $37 is a quality wine good enough for serving to guests, but in the future I would pair it with red meat.
