He said: Opened 45-minutes before drinking. Clear, ruby red color with the same color rim. Haunting aromas of damp earth, cinnamon, cherry, tar and pine scent. Very light body with a fruity acidity; intense cherry and cranberry taste that developed into a long silky smooth finish that’s loaded with rich, complex, acidic fruit flavors, fine grained tannins, energetic tar and a faint spiciness that ends with a distinct bitterness. Fantastic paired with the pork and mushroom sauce, but very DELICIOUS sipping without food. So lush and rich. In a nutshell it’s a noteworthy savory and unique Beaujolais.
She said: Almost opaque, garnet red color with a brownish rim, lots of evenly spaced thin zippy legs. Cherry with a hint of tar greets the nostrils and leads to a tart cherry flavor complemented by a dry mouth-feel, very light body and suggestions of silky tannins. The finish was medium-long and featured both tartness and smoothness. A quality wine at $27, but not my kind of wine.
