He said: Opened one hour before drinking. Opaque, dark purple with a purple and brick red rim. Powerful barnyard, blackberry and plum aromas with just a tiny pinch of peppery spice. Smooth bright entry, exhilarating dense fruity taste, well structured tannins and a very long flavorful finish. WOW, WOW, WOW…a SUPERB Syrah. Robust flavors with acidity and tannins that were PERFECTLY BALANCED. Plush flavors of blackberry, blueberry and just a touch of dusty mineral that carry through to the finish and ends dry and slightly tart. Fabulous paring with the eggplant Parmesan; but MEMORABLE drinking alone after the dinner. This was a wine I truly didn’t want to end, it was simply jumping up and down delicious. This should be near the top of every wine-drinkers “must-have” list…it was a very special treat!!!
She said: Opaque, dark garnet red with a slightly brown rim and regularly spaced steady moving legs. A huge barnyard and fruit aroma greets the nose and sets the stage for a mouthful of flavors highlighted with pleasant tannins and a medium body. The wine was well-balanced and had enough acidity to perfectly complement the eggplant Parmesan. The finish was long, full of flavors and carried the smooth tannins to the end. This wine was so good I ended up taking little sips because that’s all it took to satisfy the palate. Excellent wine and a gift that was very memorable.
