He said: Opened one hour before drinking. Opaque, dark garnet color with a purple rim. Intense plum, current and damp earth aromas. Rich, smooth, dry and lots of acidity; mouth-filling fruit and spicy, dusty, dry long finish that’s filled with round edged tannins. FANTASTIC with the beef stroganoff, but equally good drinking alone after the dinner. A QUALITY wine at a BARGAIN price and a Côtes du Rhône that was a SUPER value.
She said: Very opaque, almost murky, dark garnet red with a brown tinge to the rim, lots of evenly spaced, rapidly moving legs. Very fruity aroma that glides into equally fruity flavors all with a hint of alcohol. The mouth-feel was dry, medium bodied, and full of luscious tannins that carried into the long finish. The wine had a pleasant acidity that resonated well with the salad and was a nice complement to the dinner. A bargain wine at $14
