He said: Opened one hour before drinking. Opaque, dark ruby color with a purple rim. Ripe dark fruit and hints of floral aromas. Smooth and fleshy plum on entry, followed by slightly tart, ripe cherry and peppery spice flavors. Rousing but only medium body, rich structure, bright acidity and smooth tannins. Long concentrated finish. Very intense wine that’s full of California sunshine, but so suave and so easy drinking. A very good value “entry level” California Southern Rhone Blend.
She said: Dark ruby red with light pink rim, lots of thin irregularly spaced rapidly moving legs. Another great wine from Matt Bayless at the Woodland Hills Wine Company; he selected some wines for us that had he thought were the biggest bang for the buck in the store! The aroma of dark fruit led to a mouthful of rich fruity flavors, with a medium body and dry mouth feel. The tannins were soft and last into the long finish that was rich in flavor. Delicious with the dinner, it was also good sipping and is a great wine at $16.95.
