He said: Opened 30-minutes before drinking. Clear, purple/garnet color with a light rim. (On all three pours there was a light scum on the top of the wine. It disappeared after a vigorous swirl of the glass.) Red fruit, mushrooms and wisps of damp earth aromas. Mouth-filling medium to full body; smooth, strong, spicy cherry, plum and licorice taste that continues through a long dry finish and ends with lots of tar flavor. OUTSTANDING paired with the chicken, nice drinking alone. Interesting and unique grape that makes an excellent wine and a wonderful “week-night” wine.

She said: Vicky’s review was lost in the transfer to Ray’s computer; but here’s what she could reconstruct: Dark garnet color, opaque but with a floating debris on top that disappeared as soon as the glass was swirled; lots of irregular speedy legs. A very pleasant red fruit aroma introduced a mouth-feel with lots of fruit flavor, medium body, and grippy tannins. The wine was dry, moderately smooth, and had a long finish that carried the tannins through, but it ended with a tar-like taste. I rate this a quality wine at $15.
