He said: Chilled before drinking. Clear, with a light oat straw color. Light mushroom and crushed nut aromas. Very smooth taste with hints of caramel and honey dew melon. Long, mouth-filling, slightly tart finish that goes on and on and ends with a slight butter taste. It’s dry and quite substantial, but lacks a good bouquet and crispness. EXCELLENT paired with the shrimp and pasta and very pleasant drinking after the dinner; BUT doesn’t have character and was not nearly as good as the other Venica wines we have had at about this price point. I would recommend the Venica Collio Sauvignon and the Venica Collio Pinot Bianco over this one.
She said: Light golden yellow, clear, with numerous stout steadily moving legs. The mild aroma had hints of melon that became more dominant in the mouth. The medium body was complemented by a pleasant creaminess with a touch of tartness and a long finish that held on to the melon flavor. The wine went well with the shrimp and tabbouleh (but not with the Brussels sprouts, but who cares?) and was nice as a sipping Wine after dinner. Since there was nothing memorable about the wine I would explore other options at this price point before buying it again.
