He said: Opened 30-minutes before drinking. Opaque, Dark purple color with a lighter rim. Light dark fruit aroma. Intense plum, blackberry, current and spicy taste with earthy tones. Than a ROBUST, bone dry, long juicy fruity finish that ends with a mouth puckering richness. Only medium body, but the power-packed lush dark fruit flavors are unique for a wine at this price point. No nuances, instead a wine that’s almost overwhelming with supple fruit flavors. At only $11.95 it’s a fantastic buy and easily fits into our Quality Wine at a Bargain Price category, but is no competition for the higher priced Zinfandel.
She said: Dark purple red, opaque, thin steadily moving legs. The very mild aroma that had an alcoholic component (in the first pour) that tickled my nose but the huge red berry/dark fruit flavor came on strongly in the mouth with a medium body. The wine was smooth, tannins moderate, and the finish long. Although there is no subtlety to the wine it is a great buy at $12.
