He said: Opened 30 minutes before drinking. Dark violet color with a purple rim. Light fruity aroma (the first pour had lots of alcohol aromas). Spicy fruit (lots of plum and blackberry) taste with delicious tannins and acidity. The Long finish carries the dry fruit taste and fresh tannins on and on. Well balanced and absolutely GREAT with the dinner and noteworthy drinking alone after the dinner. A delicious Italian Dolcetto.
She said: Ruby red color, translucent, with plentiful thin legs moving quickly, belying the 12.5 % alcohol content. Admittedly, I am not familiar with this wine so don’t have a standard in my mind with which to compare it. That being said, I found the wine to have a mild alcoholic aroma from start to finish, a light body, mild fruity flavor with soft tannins that carried into the long finish. The pairing was a three on a scale of one to five. The problem was that the Italian seasoning on the chicken over powered the wine. After the dinner was over the wine faired better. The positive features of the wine were the tannin level and dryness. The light body is a plus or minus depending on your point of view.
