He said: Chilled before opening and kept on ice between pours. Clear, with a tiny hint of yellow color…it looks like a glass of glycerin. Very light sweaty horse aroma. VERY smooth, fresh, firm and crisp grassy taste with a medium-length finish that has slight hints of mineral and sweetness. GREAT with the chicken curry. Nice, very typical off-dry Riesling.
She said: Medium yellow color, on the gold side. Fat, slow legs. Mild aroma with a hint of horse. Taste on the bland side with light fruit but not overly sweet. Finish was long but continued with the bland sweet taste until the very end when a tad of tartness entered. The hummus and wine were OK. The wine came into its own with the very flavorful, but not hot, curry that was accompanied by a sweet chutney. I don’t like Rieslings in general and this is no exception when were talking about sipping. If you are talking about pairing, the story is very different, tonights pairing is why I bug Ray to include a Riesling in any large wine order he makes. With the right food Rieslings are fantastic!
