Tasting:

He said: Decanted 20-minutes before drinking. Clear, dark ruby red color. Cherry and dark fruit aromas with hints of alcohol (the alcohol was quite strong, actually dominating for the first two pours). Ripe plum and tobacco taste that turns quite quickly into a puckering mouth-feel and dry, bitter long finish. In a nutshell, it’s not pleasant wine…at best it’s “not bad”. This is one of those “in between” red wines that is OK with the food, but pretty poor drinking alone. Sipping after dinner it was very, very dry, quite acidic, and had a very lingering bitter finish. I would call it disappointing.

She said: Although dark rich red in color this wine betrayed itself with its alcohol dominated bouquet from the first sniff. The bland flavor that followed did not redeem the wine nor did its lack of smoothness or bitter finish. The best characteristics of this wine were its dryness and medium-soft tannins. In spite of its short comings the wine was good with the chicken and excellent with the salad but it still does not make it into my “to buy again list”.
