He said: Opaque, dark purple color. Very, very light red fruit and alcohol aromas. Thin earthy fruit taste with a medium-length fairly dry finish. Smooth tannins and “OK” drinking, but clearly nothing noteworthy in this bottle.
She said: One problem with shopping at a really OUTSTANDING wine store like The Caviste (Winston-Salem, North Carolina) is that you expect a good wine no matter what you buy. So when we went to the up-scale Woodland Hills Wine Company (Woodland Hills, California) we expected a decent wine. Too bad for us. Sure we bought at the lower end of their inventory but we do that at The Caviste too. The difference was a disaster; the Shiraz was thin, tasteless and only one step up from box wine.
