He said: Clear, ruby red color. Very light sweet cherry aromas. Smooth as silk blackberry taste. Short finish that ends with a tad of tart berry flavor. VERY easy drinking but shallow and only one dimensional at best. Would I buy it again…I guess, for a casual picnic with someone who know nothing about Beaujolais and had never tasted a “real” French cru Beaujolais. At $7.99 it’s a MUCH better red wine than most wine at this price point and it does have some Beaujolais characteristics.
She said: Beaujolais is supposed to be light bodied but this one is beyond that. The color is dark and appealing, the first sniff has a hint of red cherry, and the taste is smooth but the lack of flavor, body and finish is a downer. The best I can say is that it is blah! The only positive this wine has above box wine is its smoothness and that is a very big plus
