Tasting:

Opened two hours before drinking. Just barely clear, inky dark purple garnet color with a lighter purple rim. Light cherry aroma. Unexciting yet spirited mouthfeel, medium body at best and a 100-grit texture. Very robust smoky cherry, blackberry and oak flavors. Lots of energetic bright acidity, light slightly grippy fine-grained tannins and a medium length very ripe fruity finish. Not great aroma, but the bold flavors make up for what was lacking. A palatable mix of California sunshine and ripe fruit; but a little disappointing for a Napa Cabernet. We liked it with the meatloaf and Madeira sauce and in the end called it a copacetic Cabernet Sauvignon blend.
