Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, very light ruby/brown color with a lighter rim. Musty damp basement aroma. Rough entry, thin and a sharp edge to the mouthfeel, light body and a 100-grit texture. Very weak raspberry and a metallic background taste. Gobs of bright acidity, soft tannins and a long acidic finish. Not much flavor or aroma, it was just blah!!! The acidity was the only thing keeping it alive. It was an inexpensive mediocre Pinot Noir that was drinkable, but lacking in quality. In fact we have had better purchased at grocery stores, see: Au Bon Climat Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2017, Larkspur Pinot Noir 2017 and Sanford Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2014. We were kind and said it was a cheap “week-night” red wine, but don’t rush out and buy a bottle…it’s on our not recommend list.
