Tasting:
-
Opened 90-minutes before drinking. Clear, ruby color with light purple rim. Light aromas of cherry, medicinal band aid and fumes from old varnish. Slight edge to the entry, with a thin, and flat mouthfeel, light to medium body and a 100-grit texture. Muted and difficult to identify flavors of sour cherry, tart red fruit and slightly pungent vinegar. Light to medium acidity, very soft tannins and a medium length bland fruity tasting finish. WOW, very different from what was expected. In a nutshell the tastes were muted and slightly sour, it had no freshness and the finish was like old dishwater!!!. This bottle had only been in our cellar four months, but I wonder how it was stored during the previous seven years? Maybe a hot warehouse or a sunny shelf?!!! We called it a VERY DISAPPOINTING Premier Cru Burgundy.
