Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, ruby color with a brownish rim. Musty cherry and raspberry aromas with hints of lilac. Smooth, bone dry, tart and spicy mouthfeel, light to medium body and a 80-grit texture. Damp earth, cherry, raspberry, strawberry and very peppery flavors. Lots of flourishing acidity, slightly grippy tannins and a medium-length tannic and spicy finish. WOW, robust tastes, but really a very soft drinking wine. We found that it mellowed on each pour and by the last sip it was nothing short of fantastic. We said it was a very versatile summer-time wine that should appeal to a wide range of red wine drinkers. And, it gets an easy Quality Wine at a Bargain Price rating.
