Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, ruby color with a light red rim. VERY LITE earthy aroma. A little rough mouthfeel, light to medium body and a 80-grit texture. Very bitter red fruit flavors, e.g. raspberry and cranberry. Too much acidity, minuscule soft tannins and a medium length very tart finish. This was a Disappointing red Burgundy that was drinkable, but totally lacked Pinot Noir character…Vicky called it “Blah”. It was OK paired with the pork and Madeira sauce, but in the end we said it was not even up to the $13.99 price and I’m sure there are many other red wines on the grocery store shelves that are far better at this price point. But wait, here’s our conclusion…I’ll bet not many Frenchmen drink this entry level Louis Jadot wine!!!
