Chilled before drinking. Clear, light wheat straw color with a green tint. Unusual Sauvignon Blanc aromas of fairly heavy sweet spice, a fireplace that was burned the night before, hard-rock being crushed, freshly chopped nuts and the rubbery smell of pencil eraser. Smooth intense mouthfeel, dry, a touch creamy, medium body and a 150-grit texture. The taste carried the aromas on with tart tropical fruit, lemon grass and nutty flavors. Edgy acidity and a tart finish that ended with a mineral taste. WOW, WOW, WOW very unique New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Our first impression was it’s just like an “Old World” Chardonnay; but it quickly showed its true character…UNUSUAL, DELICIOUS and COMPLEX Sauvignon Blanc. It paired very well with the sesame flavor in the stir fry and really captured us with its remarkable lack of Gooseberry. We thoroughly enjoyed it and called it the most interesting New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc we have had. It’s also a SUPER value and we wish we had a case of it!!!
