He said: Clear, pale straw straw color. Strong pear and gooseberry aromas. Strong tart citrus (grapefruit) taste; and hints of lime, that continues into a medium long complex finish. The strong tart flavors make this a nice wine with the salmon. With the food the tartness decreased and the wine became more balanced. Pretty good, and for the average price of $9 its a good buy.
She said: It’s always a challenge to order a wine that is good with two different meals in addition to being good as a sipping wine before the meal arrives; but this wine did very well. It’s tart grapefruit bouquet greeted the nose and teased the palate complemented by a slight sweetness that perhaps is what the producer calls “tropical fruit”. Whatever you call it the flavor lasted into the tasty finish. Once I started my portobello mushroom sandwich the tartness of the wine came into better balance and was more of a complement. In other words it became even better. The wine was OK with the sweet potato fries but did nothing for the pickle!!! I recommend it as a bargain wine at $9 but only if you like tartness in a wine.
